Embracing your damn self has never been so cool! Look at Winnie Harlow blowing us all away with her confidence and her beauty 😍 We have had so many of our clients embrace their natural markings recently; from birth marks, moles, freckles and everything in between and they are all so stunning! Freckles are certainly having a moment, with many celebrities loving showing theirs off on the red carpet… and on Instagram of course, a la Kylie Jenner! Even those who aren’t naturally blessed (Chantel Jeffries) have been faking the beautiful markings and rocking the look! It’s become pretty popular, so popular in fact that I decided to try some Faux Freckles for myself…
How I created my Faux Freckles
I was a little concerned because I don’t wear a heavy base anymore and I wanted them to look natural so I used a very light hand. I applied my foundation as usual using Mac Face and Body Foundation in C1 and then I used my Mac Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Duck dotted all over the bridge of my nose, onto my cheek bones and over any moles already on my face. Then I dampened my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge with Lush Eau Roma Water and patted over all the little marks I had created.
They were still a little obvious for me so I added some of my foundation to the sponge, blended again and voila! My face had freckles… and I was into it!
I wore them for a few days and received a fair few compliments. I will definitely try them again whenever the sun shines, which isn’t all that often in Manchester unfortunately. If you want a stronger look apply the initial dots darker and don’t add foundation to blend them out, you can take them onto your forehead and around the eyes too. Be creative, the more random the placement, the more natural they will look.
